Welcome to my corner of the internet. I’m Mihir Soni, an engineering manager based in Seattle working in cloud computing and distributed systems. I currently lead Azure Compute Control Plane engineering at Microsoft, building the infrastructure behind VM operations at global scale. Previously, I was a founding engineer of OpenSearch at AWS, where I helped grow it from an internal project into an open-source search and analytics platform used by thousands of organizations. Here I write about software engineering, cloud infrastructure, personal finance, and whatever else is on my mind.
