Last Semester Internship

Hello,

I haven’t blogged about myself in a while — where am I, what am I doing these days? Well, I’m currently in my last semester of my master’s, which is an industrial internship. I was recruited by PMC for an internship in Baroda (Vadodara), so three of us from my class went. Two classmates were from the same city, so they weren’t worried about accommodation. I’m from Ahmedabad, so I had to find a PG. I found one near my office with help from Anish, my classmate and now colleague at the company. 😉

Our first day was the 28th of December, our joining date. On the same day we were given another week off, and told training would start on the 3rd of January. I went back home and enjoyed that week — though not without a few hiccups. We had a lot of fun during the internship, me and Anish especially.

We had training in the first month — the usual basics every company gives freshers: an introduction to the tools and technologies used, coding standards, and so on. After that we were assigned to different projects, Anish and I on separate ones. We had to go through the whole SDLC.

Outside of office we used to go out for food, thanks to Anish, who showed me some great places. I especially liked the “Cheese Garlic Puff” and “Bread Katka” — both awesome. I’m a picky eater, so Anish would get frustrated with me sometimes. 😄 We’d argue about the most random things almost every day. Every week I always looked forward to Friday, so I could head home for the weekend.

In our last week we had a farewell at “Barbeque Nation,” a great experience at a nice place. We finally wrapped up our internship, and now we have our presentation on the 5th of May. Not sure how it’ll go. 😛

Overall, it was a really nice, valuable experience — with the company and its people. I learned a lot.
