- Lead the engineering team for Azure Compute Control Plane, owning quality of service and end-to-end latency for VM create, update, and delete operations at global scale, serving enterprise AI customers including OpenAI and Microsoft AI.
- Drive Azure growth and new region and availability-zone build-out, expanding global capacity to meet rising AI workload demand.
- Own customer experience initiatives for VM operations — from reliability engineering and incident response to deployment velocity improvements — in close partnership with cross-functional Azure teams.
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for compute control-plane reliability, performance, and scalability across multiple Azure regions.
Engineering Manager — Amazon Web Services
December 2016 – November 2022
- Founding engineer for OpenSearch and OpenSearch Dashboards — a community-led fork of Elasticsearch and Kibana — now governed by the Linux Foundation and adopted by thousands of organizations worldwide.
- Designed and productized an internal fleet management and operational tooling platform for large-scale OpenSearch infrastructure at Amazon Elasticsearch Service, reducing manual on-call burden and improving fleet reliability across the service.
- Led engineering and product roadmap for OpenSearch Serverless Dashboards, built leveraging cloud native architecture via the ECS Docker engine.
- Played a key role in hiring, team-building, and technical direction, growing OpenSearch from a small internal team into a major open-source project.
Senior Software Engineer — Quikr.com

- Built and maintained REST APIs for Quikr Services vertical (iOS, Android, Web), serving millions of users across India.
- Designed and implemented a server-side Tile Server for Google Maps, enabling efficient rendering of large geospatial datasets as map overlays — a core component of the revamped location-based search experience.
